Access Maintenance Carry out Extensive Work on Holy Trinity Church

For a few years the Holy Trinity Church in Bacup Lancashire has been having trouble with water penetration in their tower. They hired an architect to look into the issue who discovered some extremely weathered areas on the spire, which was likely the cause of the issue.

The architects hired to look at the church have a previous relationship with Access Maintenance Solutions, so when the fault was discovered they got in contact with us to carry out the repair work.

Before carrying out the work we first inspected the site to ensure that we could carry out the work to an adequate standard. Once we were confident we could we started the work. We started by removing the old pointing and cleaning the surfaces before applying new, water tight pointing.

Working on a building of this age is always tricky, but thankfully Access Maintenance Solutions have been in operation since 1974. We have over 30 years’ experience working as steeplejacks and have repaired innumerable church steeples.

We put this experience to good use on this job, and over a period of three weeks five engineers worked on the steeple making it fully waterproof again.

We were delighted to be working on this project, and get a real satisfaction from bringing these old, historical structures back to life. The steeple should now be watertight for many years to come.
